Job Description:

To provide a full Enterprise and Supplier Development function, to the business unit in accordance with Enterprise and Supplier Development policies and procedures as well as best practices.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and assess level of issue based risk exposures in area of responsibility by considering exposures to business, financial, legal issues, people, equipment, material, environment, processes, etc.
  • Consider the level of risk, apply mitigation and implement control measures for residual risk (set objectives, minimum requirements, etc.)
  • Manage SHEQ compliance within the Process through effective use of the Toolbox
  • Utilise the Integrated Management System (IMS) to initiate, investigate and report SHEQ status
  • Ensure an enabling climate/culture
  • Manage labour stability by minimising labour turnover
  • Labour complement in line with budget
  • Achieve HDSA/Female targets for the Section
  • Manage performance against set targets and competencies
  • Ensure IDP’s are linked to performance results and implemented as per plan
  • Conduct career discussions and implement actions with all identified talent (quarterly)
  • Ensure self-discipline is maintained (absenteeism, lateness, overtime, misconduct, etc.)
  • Coach and counsel people to ensure improved performance levels
  • Conduct recruitment interviews
  • Conduct Customer Satisfaction Surveys
  • Unlock the potential of local entrepreneurs
  • Promote Entrepreneurship
  • Enhance competitiveness and capabilities of local suppliers
  • Liaise with business unit and Legal Department
  • Liaise with external and internal stakeholders
  • Assist with vendor assessments and evaluations
  • Implement and drive Enterprise and Supplier development strategies
  • Implement and drive BBBEE  compliance
  • Promote procurement transformation key performance indicators
  • Implement local procurement plans
  • Communicate the Enterprise and Supplier Development plans to local Entrepreneurs
  • Implement SLP and Mining Charter commitments related to Enterprise and Supplier Development
  • Facilitate the on boarding of local suppliers on Coupa
  • Facilitate, develop and implement SLA’s with service providers
  • Facilitate ED and SD Contract management.
  • Ensure that Enterprise and Supplier Development Agreement meet BEE requirements
  • Analyse spend on Vendors, Commodities or Users and make recommendations to improve spend on BBBEE enterprises.
  • Compile Local spend procurement Reports.
  • Compile Enterprise and Supplier Development Reports.
  • Draft and maintain Enterprise and Supplier Development Policies and Procedures
  • Implement Enterprise and Supplier Development strategies and initiatives.
  • Evaluate new suppliers (conduct capabilities and risk assessments and audits, as required)
  • Identify BEE and job-creating suppliers to be developed, supported and grown.
  • Facilitate the structuring of conditional procurement contracts
  • Identify contracts for unbundling, to promote participation of local suppliers
  • Negotiate specific performance expectations with procurement
  • Negotiate conditional procurement growth agreements with procurement, on behalf of suppliers.
  • Identify opportunities to be ring fenced for local procurement.
  • Link competent suppliers with identified opportunities.
  • Contract Business Development Advisors to undertake needs assessments to determine requirements to achieve competitiveness.
  • Structure, negotiate, and contract an E.S.D program , to provide businesses with the required support to achieve competitiveness
  • Implement Enterprise and Supplier Development strategies and initiatives.
  • Coordinate the annual ED planning and budgeting process for the Region.
  • Coordinate the generation and submission of viable ED projects.
  • Facilitate the appointment of ED service providers and managing them in terms of their service level agreements.
  • Manage ED suppliers against mandate and Service Level Agreements.
  • Assessments
  • Facilitate the provision of  training (Business and Technical skills training)
  • Facilitate and provide information and assistance on Grant funding and business loans.
  • Coaching and mentoring of Local enterprises.
  • Ensure compliance to applicable ESD legislation.
  • Create and maintain relationships with key stakeholders (internally and externally)
  • Create and maintain a central potential ESD beneficiary database.
  • Increase BBBEE spend
  • Benchmark industry leaders on BBBEE affairs and initiatives.
  • Ensure integration with local business development initiatives.
  • Network formally and informally with industry and relevant peer groups.
  • Strengthen Awareness about critical role of entrepreneurship
  • Verify vendor BBBEE status.
  • Capacity Building
  • Expand market opportunities for certain categories of businesses
  • Manage Continuous Improvement through Operational Excellence

 

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

  • Degree or National Diploma in B.Com. / Business Administration
  • 4 years’ relevant experience
  • Business Administration, Political Sciences or Social Development Studies.
  • Astute understanding of business.
  • Developed commercial negotiation skills.
  • Very good interpersonal skills – ability to build strong relationships at all levels.
