Job Description:

Our client, a leading international OEM supporting the mining sector, is seeking an experienced Planning Manager to oversee maintenance planning, resource coordination and material requirements on site in West Africa.

The role will focus on ensuring effective maintenance execution, parts availability, accurate planning and adherence to maintenance, quality and HSE standards.

Responsibilities:

• Manage short- and long-term maintenance planning and planned repair activities.
• Plan major component change-outs, including installation kits and Gantt charts.
• Manage MRP, work orders, maintenance plans and material requirements.
• Coordinate with maintenance, warehouse and site teams to ensure parts are available on time.
• Monitor maintenance budgets and ensure activities remain within approved targets.
• Process and consolidate work-order and maintenance documentation in the relevant systems.
• Provide parts pricing and planning information for budgeting purposes.
• Monitor maintenance KPIs and identify corrective actions and improvement opportunities.
• Prepare and supervise daily, weekly and monthly maintenance activity reports.
• Participate in maintenance, safety and toolbox meetings.
• Ensure compliance with company, manufacturer, quality and HSE procedures.
• Escalate abnormal situations, planning issues and non-conformities appropriately.

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

• Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Maintenance Management or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in maintenance planning for HME withing the mining sector.
• Strong Komatsu or Caterpillar equipment background, with previous experience working for an OEM / dealer.
• Hands-on experience with MRP and SAP-based planning processes.
• Strong understanding of maintenance plans, task lists, PM sheets and safe work procedures.
• Good knowledge of end-to-end supply chain and material flow within a production environment.
• Experience with maintenance planning and major component change-out planning.
• Strong analytical, technical and problem-solving abilities.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent planning, coordination and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, materials, suppliers and maintenance requirements.
• Strong understanding of maintenance budgets, forecasting and KPI reporting.
• Fluent English required with French communication skills advantageous.
• Strong HSE awareness and commitment to safe working practices.
• Previous expatriate experience in West Africa preferred.
