A South African fintech focused on serving underbanked and underserved communities is looking for a sharp, hands-on generalist to join its team. The fintech provides customers with a platform to receive payments, hold money, pay for everyday services, and send money home.

With an ambition to evolve into a comprehensive financial super app, the business is looking for someone who can work across product, growth, and operations, contributing to the development of the product, identifying opportunities for growth, and improving how the business operates.

Reporting directly to the Chief Growth Officer, this is an early-stage, high-ownership opportunity suited to someone who enjoys variety, takes initiative, and is comfortable working across different areas of a business. The successful candidate will play a role in shaping product direction, exploring and testing growth opportunities, and identifying ways to improve operational processes and business efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Product: help shape product vision and roadmap, grounded in customer research and data.
• Growth: identify, size and test growth opportunities across acquisition, activation, retention and cross-sell.
• Operations: find and fix friction in how customers get onboarded, funded and supported.
• Analysis: turn messy data into clear answers and recommendations leadership can act on.
• Execution: own projects end to end, from problem definition to shipped result, working across product, engineering, marketing and ops.
• AI leverage: use AI tools to move faster and automate work across the team.

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

• 3–5 years' experience, ideally in a tech company, startup or scale-up.
• Hungry and highly proactive: you spot problems and fix them without being asked.
• AI-native: AI tools are part of how you research, analyse, build and write every day.
• Strong analytically: comfortable with data, spreadsheets and SQL or similar.
• A generalist builder: happy moving between strategy and hands-on execution.
• Clear communicator: you write and present crisp, structured recommendations.
