What industry do you work in?
I work in an internationally recognised oil company as a geologist in training.
What are your strengths?
I have obtained a bachelor degree qualification in geology.
Through my academic training I always had the idea of working in the oil industry because it is a sector in the process of emergence in my country. Working hard is one of my strengths and I believe if I work hard I will reach the place where I want to.
What inspired you to get into this sort of industry?
I believe that this is the right place where I can explore my knowledge and skills.
What is the most challenging aspect within your field of work?
The most challenging aspects in line of work entail living for long periods outside my country with loads of stress.
How do you manage and overcome these challenges?
It’s easier for me to deal with such challenges by forgetting them and reminding myself that life is everywhere so make the most of it.
What has been the highlight of your career?
Interacting with people abroad from different countries and from my own country has been one of the highlights in my career.
If somebody starts as a trainee / beginner within your line of work, what could they earn in salary?
Roughly between 3000 to 4000 US dollars.
What can this person expect to earn after 10 years of experience?
Roughly between 8000 to USD $ 10,000.
What advice can you offer people who are in the same industry as you?
It’s an amazing work field to be part of.

Where in Africa have you worked before?
Egypt. Western desert khaddar Petroleum Company as a geologist in summer training.
As you know, numerous African countries are being invested in due to their rich minerals. Which country within Africa do you think will be the next hot spot and why?
Egypt. As it had more of sources of rich minerals. (Although many African countries are rich in minerals).

Yes, I do believe in Africa because there is so much to explore and because it is a continent with so many offerings for workers in this field.
