CA Global Quarterly Staff Function – A night in Nature

On the 2nd of March, the CA Global team celebrated our quarterly staff function, retreat-style. The entire CA Global staff took off to the beautiful Fynbos Estate, a beautiful farm nestled in Malmesbury, about an hour out of Cape Town.

Being away from the hustle of city life and our regularly scheduled program provided us with the perfect break. We were surrounded by nature, with the greenery and scenic mountain views providing a relaxed atmosphere. We stayed in two spacious cottages, which made us feel a bit like kids on camp. Our backyard? The winelands and massive 360 degree garden.

We tried our hand at a variety of activities that really brought out the competitive edge in some teammates, such as Jenga and 30 Seconds. Our 30 Seconds game definitely reminded some of us to brush up of our general knowledge! In the evening we participated in a wine-tasting at De Perdestal before dinner, where we sampled some of the wines made in-house and got a brief lesson on the history of wine. Following wine-tasting, we had a brilliant dinner overlooking the winelands.

While this getaway was only one night, it was a brilliant day for bonding. Co-workers who might not have spoken to each other much engaged in different ways, and people opened up to each other. This day formed new friendships, and strengthened existing ones. At the end of the day, we are all human, and communication is central to our humanity. This day allowed us to realise this.
