What industry do you work in and what exactly are your skills?
I work in a non-governmental international humanitarian organization responsible for the management of refugee camps and my skills are supervising camp manager. In the past I have worked as a human resources manager for a German NGO in DRC before.
What inspired you to get into this sort of industry?
What made me get into this kind of industry is the fact that I come from a country with multiple mineral resources. Making use of regular staffs who worked at international level to benefit from their cultural diversity acquired during their various missions out of the country was another motivator.
What is the most challenging aspect within your field of work?
The lack of respect for the religious beliefs of other people.
How do you manage and overcome these challenges?
Understanding the religious and cultural tolerance of other people and effective dialogue in order to find out the reason as to why there is the issue at hand.
What has been the highlight of your career?
My career has four hats, the first is the human resource manager position, the second is program management in Niger , the third is the camp management/program officer, and the last is the field coordination that I did in a English speaking country (Liberia).
If somebody starts as a trainee / beginner within your line of work, what could they earn in salary?
The trainee receives a bonus and not a salary. If the qualifying period is less than 2 months then the calculation of the bonus is at the discretion of the company however I would say at least 450 euros monthly.
What can this person expect to earn (It doesn’t have to be an exact figure, a rough guide is sufficient) after 10 years of experience?
An employee with 10 years experience has the right to a salary that is satisfactory. The remuneration of young workers varies according to seniority and age. (Article L6221-1 and following of the Labor Code)
Who is your role model and why?
I admire the program Officer of UNHCR Burkina-Faso because of his wisdom in conflict management skills.
What motivates you to work this hard?
To overcome the challenge, achieve a satisfactory level of performance and to allow a model for identifying my performance.
What is your outlook within your industry over the next 5 years?
To achieve a level of production and sales which is UNBEATABLE.
As you know, numerous African countries are being invested in due to their rich minerals. Which country within Africa do you think will be the next hot spot and why?
I know it from its level of competitiveness – Burkina Faso. This Is the next hot-spot-country because of the abundant discovery of gold in many of its towns and villages.
