Algeria Infrastructure Builds Up International Investment

Algeria is a big player in Africa and is making headway across International Markets, not only because of its substantial land area, but also because of its sizeable GDP.

The combination of significant land area and a high GDP, leads to high transport volumes and an improving infrastructure. This was not always the case; due to civil war, between the years 1991 and 2001 Algeria infrastructure investment came to a virtual standstill. The negative effect it had reflected a major backlog in infrastructure maintenance and improvement across the region. Still a challenge the country faces today and something that hinders Algeria infrastructure investment is the country’s vast desert geography.

In addressing these problems, the Government has made transport a priority with major upgrades and expansions in progress as part of its extensive public investment programme contributing to the further development of Algeria infrastructure investment.
