Celebrating Madiba’s Legacy On Mandela Day
“There can be no greater gift than that of giving one’s time and energy to help others without expecting anything in return.” These were the words of the late South African legend, Nelson Mandela, and the message of giving back and performing acts of kindness was one that he lived by.
As we do every year on 18 July, CA Global Headhunters joins the rest of the country in giving back to the community in honour of Nelson Mandela Day and the legacy of Madiba.
CA Global gives back this Mandela Day
To celebrate this Mandela Day, CA Global has been running a Donation Drive to collect items and cash donations for Ladles of Love, a local Non-Profit Organisation in Cape Town.
Team members brought in pre-loved, clean clothing, blankets, non-perishable food items, toiletries, and sanitary products to deliver to the NPO. Ladles of Love will distribute the donated items to the hungry and homeless in Cape Town.
This was a great initiative to lend a helping hand and show care by giving some assistance to the members of our community who need it the most.
About Ladles of Love
Ladles of Love, founded by Danny Diliberto, is a charity foundation on a mission to feed and nourish the hungry. This is part of the organisation’s wider goal, which is to uplift the homeless, displaced and anyone else who is underprivileged and give them respect and dignity.
It all started with a soup kitchen on a street in the Cape Town CBD eight years ago. The kitchen provided soup to the homeless once a week.
Over time, Ladles of Love expanded to have multiple sites across the Western Cape and Gauteng, and now feeds thousands of residents nourishing meals.
Not only this, but it also works with and aids underfunded schools, community projects and kitchens, local farmers, and NPOs, helping them to assist the community with various initiatives, including Feed the Soil and Realise a Dream.
