The Oil and Gas Industry in Angola and Mozambique

Kai, our latest Oil and Gas Industry Consultant, is very passionate about both countries and their people. He has met so many highly skilled candidates that are either in the countries or diaspora looking to return and add value to the country. This is an article that he wrote that I would like to share with all of you I hope you enjoy the read!

So far, this has been a great year, with a lot of exciting projects, developments and challenges. Looking back, the change has been for the better and I have no regrets at all. Mozambique is set to explode with talent and business and well, Angola is amazing.

Angola:

Angola puts up 12 offshore oil blocks for auction;
250 firms take part in Expo Cabinda 2014;
Luanda Government Committed to Environmental Education.

Mozambique:

Mozambique to build two hydropower plants worth $1.8 bln;
Maputo — the Mozambican government has approved its Natural Gas Plan;
Many more upcoming BIG plans for Mozambique.

This year has been a very unique year, from creating unique connections that will be with me for a long time, to unforgettable memories, picturesque moments, I cannot really complain and I predict great things to come not only for me, but for Africa.

I think Africa is ready to take the world by storm, people’s mind sets have changed from negative to positive. Someone very close to me once said “O universe conspira a favor de quem acredita”, this fits Africa’s current mind-set.

So back to the reason for this post… I was offered a new position within the same company, but in a different division, CA Oil & Gas, which is part of CA Global International. I accepted the offer and am very happy about this career advancement.

So, now my position has changed, from Financial Headhunter to Business Development Manager and Specialist Headhunter focusing on Lusophone markets within Oil & Gas and with special attention to building relationships with companies and nationals of the given countries.
