Video: Akon launches Africa Solar Energy initiative | Jobs in Africa

Last week we published an article outlining Akon’s involvement in bringing Solar Power to Africa, click ,HERE.

If you didn’t know, Akon is on a mission to improve Africa! Through his company (with company co founders Thione Niang and Samba Bathily) “Akon Lighting Africa” he started by building a primary school in Senegal, starting a charity organistion, owning a mine in South Africa, and now, he is also looking to bring power to rural homes throughout Africa!

I found 2 amazing video clips where Akon Speaks at the United Nations’ Sustainable Energy for All forum and reveals his plans to launch a solar energy job-training program in Mali. Akon explains how he understands the plight of the destitute because he grew up in a household that was poverty stricken, where he often had no electricity or food.

This is his way of giving back to the community, our Africa.

Watch his videos below and tell us your thoughts.
